On our morning walk to work, my flat-mate and I create quite a stir with the younger school children. My flat-mate has been in country for 2 weeks longer than me and she is well recognized now; I remain a novelty, and overheard "mzungu" said about me for the first time this morning.
Yesterday, I looked in the street to my left and saw our two bigger shadows, trailed by a string of smaller shadows--a number of the smaller children, particularly the girls, fall in line behind us until we reach the turn for their school. Though I have still a number of weeks here, I know I'm going to miss this daily walk.
